Makes: 12 servings | Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 large apple, skin on, diced
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 12 oz fresh cranberries
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- a pinch of salt
Instructions
Step 1
Wash, chop and add your apple to a large sauce pan. Then add in your water, and start heating it over medium heat on your stove.
Step 2
Wash your cranberries and then add them in, give it a good stir and let it start to bubble.
Step 3
Add in your lemon juice, salt and maple syrup and start to stir it as it cooks.
Step 4
Stir frequently as the mixture can burn easily.
Step 5
When the apples are soft and the cranberries are almost all burst, your sauce is done! Go through and mash any cranberries that didn’t burst with a fork.
Step 6
Transfer to a bowl and let the sauce cool.
