#103 Rethinking Vitamin D with Morley Robbins

Morley Robbins is back on the podcast this week! This time around he’s teaching us about why we may need to start rethinking Vitamin D supplementation. Vitamin D is harmful if you don’t need it.

It’s a controversial topic but we’re gonna talk about it anyway! Morley does not think that the majority of people taking Vitamin D should be taking it. Too much can induce Vitamin D toxicity.

Everywhere we turn nowadays, from the grocery store to the blogosphere, it’s posted that we need more Vitamin D intake. However, this may not always be true! In this episode of the podcast, Morley is going to share the reasons behind this and the potential health conditions that could be caused by excess Vitamin D supplementation.

It’s not that simple. that will not ameliorate all the problems with D. But it does help! Again, I prefer if clients get D from food and ONLY take it if they have the correct testing we talk about in the podcast. Some people, of course, do need Vitamin D.

and can you give us information about how many people damaged their health from vitamin d3? I mean real information and not generalities.

I listened to your entire podcast about the problem with overdosing Vitamin D3 and how we all get too much Calcium, and D3 just adds to that problem. You talk a lot about how Magnesium is more important. I get that, but now I am confused about D3 because I just read this book by your fellow health researcher, Chicagoan Jeff T. Bowles – THE MIRACULOUS RESULTS OF EXTREMELY HIGH DOSES OF THE SUNSHINE HORMONE VITAMIN D3 MY EXPERIMENT WITH HUGE DOSES OF D3 FROM 25,000 to 50,000 to 100,000 IU A Day OVER A 1 YEAR PERIOD. And in that book he cites numerous studies that indicate that most people are way too deficient in D. and he also provides numerous testimonials about not only how he used D3 (along with K2) but his readers testimonials of tremendous healing using large doses of D3 + K2 (many also used Magnesium). So how do you explain those results? I mean some of the results are astounding!

He got good results because perhaps many of those people needed Vitamin d! I think those doses are crazy. Just because D is good does not mean that more of it is better. And we don’t know what other confounding factors contributed to their regained health. Im sure they were doing a lot more than taking Vitamin d.

Again, I’m not vilifying D. We are merely pointing out that it is not a good idea to take any vitamin, including Vitamin D, unless you need it.

We need vitamins to live and our food is dangerously depleted of vitamins and minerals thru over processing. Your comments could really hurt people. I have never heard of such a thing.

HI Fay,
I have read up on vitamin d. And I have talked to many, many health experts. The good health practitioners that I know DON”T give D to everyone – only to the people that need it. Mind you, we are not talking about avoiding D – only avoiding it if you don’t need it. I always encourage clients to get tested to ensure if they need it or not.

My health got way worse after Vit D. and the internet is riddled with many people in the same boat..people sticking with D, even when they feel horrible because they think it’s some kind of detox reaction when they are really depleting other vitamin and mineral reserves and frying their adrenals and thyroid. I wish I had have known about this and saved myself years of grief. Thanks, Wendy.

Dr. Mercola sells Vitamin D. This is why I mentioned his name. I’m not laughing at him. I love Dr. Mercola and the amazing info he gives to the public. It’s just that this is a little known issue. The BEST health practitioners I know do now indiscriminantly give vitamin d to everyone like most doctors.

yes, you can view all this documentation I have gathered about the negative effects of Vitamin d if you don’t need it. Mind you on the podcast we are saying to get tested before supplementing. Not warning against all D supplementation.

Always sad to hear people cutting down others who are trying to help people. You obviously don’t listen to Dr Mercola. He recommends that you get your vitamin D3 levels checked by a doctor and you get your vitamin d3 thru sensible exposure to natural sunshine. I never get why people do this. We are just all trying to learn and improve our health and that of our loved ones and the negativity really distracts and takes away from this. Everyone needs to let go of their egos and try to help us all learn. Also be sure when you are laughing and giggling at another person just trying to help people learn that you actually do know what they are saying and aren’t misquoting their information.
